Have you ever had the feeling that your being watched? Have you ever had the feeling that your being followed? Have you ever walked through an alley and looked back because you thought someone was there? Have the doorbell at your home ever ranged and nobody was there? Have you ever been so sure that you knew someone was trying to send you a message?
You might answer no, but you also might be wrong.
This morning I woke up. I got up of my bed. I took my towel and went to take a bath. I stepped into the bath and pulled the curtain. I started the water. I took some shampoo and washed my hair. Suddenly I heard steps in the bathroom. At first I thought it was my brother, but then I remembered I had locked the door. Then the steps came closer towards me and I got this chilly feeling. Then I saw a shadow on the curtain. I got scared and said: "Somebody there?" I got no answer, so I quietly reached for the curtain and pulled it. But no one was there. I pulled back and forth the curtain several times, but the shadow had disappeared as well as the footsteps. Then again I got this chilly feeling, but then I thought it might was my own shadow and the footsteps was my own. But maybe I was wrong, maybe not. Maybe I had one to many drinks last night, but I don't really remember what I did last night either, it was weird, I couldn't remember anything from last night.
However, I got out of the bath. Went back to my room. Opened my closet and looked for what to wear. Something was wrong. I only had a suit in there. A black suit with black tie and black shoes with black socks. I had no choice but to wear them. I put on my suit with my black shoes and I also put on my lucky golden chain around my neck. I went downstairs to get some coffee and something to eat. Once I was downstairs I saw that the paper had arrived. I took up the paper from the floor and entered the kitchen. As I brew a cup of coffee I chose to stand up and lean against the sink. I took the paper and read the headline. It said: "Another catastrophic event has occurred in western Asia". I browsed through the paper, but there was no content. The only content I found was at page five and it said: "We are watching you, Mr David." I thought for a minute... Then I took another minute of thought... and another. The conclusion I was trying to come forth to did not appear bright in my head, but then I thought: "Who is David and might this David be the one behind all of this? If so, then why?"
I took my cup of coffee and went to get my case. On the way I also took my car keys. I took my case and went for the front door. I opened the front door and stepped outside. I locked the front door and pressed the button for the elevator to arrive. It seemed that the elevator was broken. I went for the stairs and stepped down the stairs. When I reached the fifth floor I heard a voice of a woman. I went for the elevator and saw someone was stuck in there. It was the voice of that woman that I heard. She was alone in there and she told me to call the service. I reached in my pocket for my phone, but it seemed I had forgot it on the kitchen table. So I told her: "Wait here a minute, I will just go upstairs to get my phone." So I rushed back up and as I was looking for my keys in my pocket I heard the woman scream of fear. I yelled back and said: "Don't worry I have my phone now, I have called the service and they are on their way." But I lied just to calm her down. She stopped screaming and I was thinking: "Well, looks like yelling at her worked." I found my keys in my left pocket on my pants. I opened the front door and rushed for the phone. I got the phone and called the number on the elevator door sign. I got no answer, so I tried again, but still no answer. I went downstairs to the fifth floor. I got chocked. What I saw there scared me. What I saw was blood, blood inside the elevator. I slowly went towards the elevator and looked through the small glass window. Suddenly her hand slammed on the glass and I jumped back. She was whispering something. She was saying: "You did this, you MURDERED me." I was in such a chock I didn't think clearly. I ran downstairs, through the port and out to the street. I was in chock and was taking heavy breaths. I couldn't think straightly either because of all the traffic around me and the people who was just staring strangely at me. They looked at me like they knew something, something important about me, something I needed to know, something they held back from me. I needed to get out of here. I needed to get somewhere quite and calm. I started running. I ran towards my car. Before I got into my car, I took a good look at it first and then I noticed something. It was black, same as my shoes, same as my suit. Now it was clearly to me. This color, this black color, it was something strange about it and now when I think about it, even my case was black and the cup of coffee I had was black too. This color was saying something to me, trying to send me a message, but what is the message. I started my car and I drove. I just drove without any destination. I drove and drove and drove, until I hit a road that had no further passage. I turned off the engine and looked straight out of the front window. I pulled the handbrake and went out. I pulled out a cigarette from my pocket and light it up. I took a deep smoke and I blew it out. I was trying to think as I was looking at the scenery. I looking at the tall grass and the wind that breezed through it. I looked at the birds and heard them tweeting. I looked at the tree standing alone in middle of the tall grass, just like me. I thought that all of this might just be a bad dream and that I might just wake up anytime soon. So I waited there, waited to wake up from all of this. So I waited and waited
and waited and waited and waited...
